YAHUKIMO - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Yahukimo Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Saturday, 28 September 2024, the Marines Task Forces, especially the Halabok Post led by Captain Septian, took the time to greet the children in Kuaserama Village, Dekai District, while conducting a patrol in the area.
Commander of the Marines Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, underscored the Task Forces' commitment to addressing the community's basic needs around the Halabok Post. This commitment, demonstrated since the Task Forces' assignment in Papua, has been furthered through Social Communication with local stakeholders. Recognizing the importance of education for the children in Kuaserama Village, the Marines Patrol Team brought along and distributed several shoes and school supplies during their Saturday patrol, aligning their efforts with the region's development.

When they met the children on the patrol route, the HABEMA Marines invited them to communicate, and they responded enthusiastically. In Social Communication, the Patrol Team distributed free shoes and school supplies to the children. The Kuaserama children immediately greeted the free distribution with joy. As an expression of gratitude, one of them, Markus Tabuni, said, "Thank you for the school supplies, Marines Commander."
Upon receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, praised the Marines Task Forces’ inspiring initiative to distribute free school supplies to children in Kuaserama Village. His words, 'The Marines Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to provide the community’s basic need to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region.' He underscored the significant impact of such initiatives on the region's development. This recognition from the highest authority in HABEMA not only commends the Task Forces but also instills hope and optimism about their potential to positively shape the region's future. It is a testament to the Task Forces' and the community's efforts, making them feel recognized, valued, and respected.
